Terms of use

Dar Faras publishes a register of horses offered for sale, lease and stud in the United Arab Emirates. Using the site means accepting what follows. It is short on purpose.
What Dar Faras is, and is not
We are a register and an introduction. We are not a party to any transaction. We do not own the horses, do not act as agent for buyer or seller, do not hold deposits or payments, and take no commission on a sale. When you contact a seller you are dealing with that person directly, and the contract for the horse is between the two of you.
What our review does and does not mean
Every listing is read by a person before it is published, and one that is obviously wrong, duplicated or misdescribed is refused. That is a filter, not a warranty. We do not physically inspect horses, do not verify soundness, and do not confirm that a seller owns what they are offering unless a listing says specifically that we have checked something.
Have any horse examined by your own veterinarian before you buy it, and see the original passport and registration papers in person. Nothing on this site replaces either.
If you list a horse
- The horse must be real, currently in your possession or lawfully offered by you, and genuinely available on the terms you state.
- Everything you tell us must be true — age, height, breeding, registration, competition record, health history and price.
- The photographs and video must be of that horse and yours to publish. Images taken from another advertisement are removed and the account closed.
- Tell us promptly when the horse is sold, leased or withdrawn. An out-of-date register is worth nothing to anybody, including you.
- You keep ownership of what you upload, and grant us permission to display it on Dar Faras and to use it to promote the register while your listing is live.
We may decline, edit or remove a listing, and close an account, at our discretion — most often because something cannot be substantiated.
Fees
- We never charge commission on the sale of a horse. A listing fee is the only thing a seller pays us, and a buyer pays us nothing.
- The current listing fees, any free allowance and any promotion, and the date a promotion ends, are shown on the sell page and again before you pay. The price shown at checkout is the price.
- Every published listing runs for sixty days from the day it is entered in the register, not from the day you started the form. After sixty days it comes off unless renewed. Renewal is charged at the regular listing price shown on your dashboard.
- Refunds. If we decline to enter a horse you have paid to list, the fee is refunded in full, automatically. A listing you withdraw, mark sold, or let expire after it has been published is not refunded.
- Done-for-you listings. We write the listing from what you send us and you approve it before publication. By approving it you confirm every fact in it is true. The fee is refunded in full if we cannot enter the horse; it is not refunded once the listing is published.
- Pre-purchase examinations. On request, Dar Faras arranges an examination by a licensed UAE veterinarian and charges the fee shown at the time. We confirm we can carry it out before you pay; if we then cannot, the fee is refunded in full. The examination and its findings are the veterinarian's professional work, describe the horse on the day, and are not a guarantee by Dar Faras of the horse's soundness or suitability. The fee is payable whether the horse passes or fails.
- Payments to Dar Faras are made only through checkout on darfaras.com, processed by Stripe. We never send payment links by email, WhatsApp or any other message. A link claiming to be a Dar Faras payment link is a fraud.
Your Seller Key
Your account is created when you first list, and is your listed phone number plus a Seller Key, which we email to you when your first horse is entered. It is yours to keep secure: anyone holding it can change your listings. Tell us at once if you think someone else has it.
Register entry numbers
Every published listing receives a permanent entry number. It identifies that horse's entry in our register, is never reissued to another horse, and remains on record after the listing is sold or archived. It is a reference, not a certificate of ownership, pedigree or health.
What you may not do
- Advertise anything other than a horse or an offer relating to a specific horse.
- Copy the register — scraping, bulk extraction or republishing our listings elsewhere.
- Contact sellers or buyers to sell them unrelated goods or services.
- Misrepresent who you are, or list on behalf of someone without their authority.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that a listing is accurate, that a seller will perform, or that a horse is fit for any purpose. To the extent the law allows, Dar Faras is not liable for loss arising out of a transaction between users, out of reliance on a listing, or out of the site being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Reporting a problem
If a listing is fraudulent, stolen, misdescribed or concerns a horse in distress, write to hello@darfaras.com. We read reports the same day and remove listings we cannot stand behind.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
